A few guidelines for posting in the game both in threads and journals!
Please take the time to scan this one, just to make things easier on the mods!

All threads must be posted in the RPG community and headed with a description of contents in the following manner:

Who: (Character names)
What: (General situation description)
When: (General Date/time)
Rating: (G, PG, 15, 18, X)
Incomplete/Complete

The rating system is used to prevent people reading NSFW threads without proper warning. So, if a thread heads off in a racy direction please change the rating.

We’re more than happy for you to RP through whatever means convenient to you, whether it be threading, email, AIM, googledocs etc but please post the completed (or incompleted) logs onto the RP so we all know what’s going on. When you do, please try to edit out user names and other useless information and make each reply identifiable, either by alternating colours or appropriate spacing.

Tagging

As well as the header we would appreciate if players could use tags on their threads to allow organisation and generally make threads easier to find or search through.

Tags should be separated by commas and should include:
Month year (eg September 1999), Names (first & surnames), rating (eg rating 15), grabme (if applicable)

Eg: september 1999, anthony goldstein, michael corner, rating X, grabme

Please attempt to update tags if you join an open thread to include your character of if the rating changes.

Journals

Journals are diaries magically interlinked so users can write entries others can view and comment, much like a livejournal or insanejournal!
Personal journals can be hexed private either to your character (as a diary entry) or to other players. Please indicate which sections are private like so:

[Hexed private to self]
Blah blah blah
[/Private]

[Charmed private to Harry Potter]

Yo, sup dawg
[/private]

Occasionally, if your character is tired or emotional or just not being careful they may incorrectly charm their journals, which can either lead to a failed private or a breakable hex. For example:

[Failed private to Hermione]
or
[Poorly charmed to Ron]

Be aware that poorly hexed journals can be read by anyone who is willing to break the charm and failed privates can be read by everyone.

Comments in reply to journals may also be private by writing the character’s name in the title.

Struckthrough text is NOT visible to your character. All that can be seen is a large splatter of ink where the words have been scratched out. That said, feel free to write all sorts of interesting things before your character decides to change their minds!

Please remember, if something is private it CANNOT be read by your character unless stated. They are unaware of what is being said! No they may not have ‘an inkling’ or anything of the sort. You may know, but your character must remain oblivious.

Owls

Owls, class notes and other non-journal means of communication (Patronus etc) are to be posted to the RPG under an ‘LJ-cut’ titled as such:

(Owl post to Ginny Weasley)

(Note in Charms Class to Luna Lovegood)

Tags should include the date, names of the receiving character/s as well as the sender and the appropriate tag, i.e;
!owlpost, !classnote, !patronus etc

Please note, Class Notes can be read by anyone present in that class, as the note may have to travel through or past any number of people to reach its destination, and there’s nothing to stop people having a quick peek.

We're not going to be too strict on tags and owls and journals and formats, but please make our lives a tad easier and have a go at tagging, etc! It just stops a bit of mayhem across the comm!
