![]() Currently not much is known about the Tresvario Virus. Recent reports declare that the virus originated on the coast of Portugal and has swiftly made its way through the countries of Europe leaving large numbers of Wizarding communities without magic. The Ministry of Magic have officially closed all magical travel, imports and owl communication to and from Europe in an effort to control the spread of the disease and prevent the pandemic reaching British shores. So far the plan appears to be working. The initial symptoms, lasting approximately five days, are similar to the common cold or early onset of Influenza and are reported to consist of: > Headaches > Loss of appetite > Nausea > Fatigue After five to six days the symptoms progress and magical ability beings to suffer, spells and magic become increasingly unpredictable and difficult to control until finally, after approximately ten days, all magical ability is lost. So far there is limited research on the T Virus as most witches and wizards refuse to risk exposure in order to study it. Method of transfer remains a mystery and it is unknown if the effects are permanent. UPDATE 1: It has been discovered that once you've lost your magic, you are no longer able to spread the infection. The Quarantine The Quarantine is impassable. No one can leave the school at any time. It stretches a three mile radius of the school, including one part of the forbidden forest, and extends three miles under the ground. Even the tunnels are blocked. As you approach the quarantine, a buzzing sound fills your ears, louder the closer you get. Touching the invisible walls results in a small static shock. Nothing major, just a small jolt of pain to remind you to stay back. Approaching from the outside is a similar experience, and touching it results in the same small shock. However you CAN push through with minimal resistance. But once you're through, you can't go back... |
